For regular PvE, Defy Pain is a waste of a slot. Your job is to kill stuff, there's no space on your bar for tanking crap (as well as being elite). It's got use for farming, but not much outside of that.

People will laugh at you/get pissed at you in RA if you use that.

defy pain kinda goes against your job as a warrior. I suppose it would be alright on a sword bar where you dont really need an elite.

I watched in horror as a luxon defy pain warrior completely solo'd gunther b/c we had no monks, and me on a warrior couldn't do any damage. Outside of fort aspenwood imo it shouldn't really be considered

Defy Pain is only good for stalling people. The last thing people want is to be sitting an RA game for god knows because of a Defy Pain Warrior who just won't die.

My pve farming build: Counter Attack (gain 3x6 nrg), Power Attack, Victorious Sweep (gain 3x70 health), Defy Pain, Flail, Enraging Charge, Aura of Holy Might.
16 str, 12 scythe.

Has the damage, has the heals, has the defense, has everything and an open slot Usually put body blow, random pve skill or an interrupt in free spot.

Ps. don't be dumb like the rest of the wammos, don't use defy pain in pvp.

In low-level PvP (where people use less Tab), Defy Pain is a monster. Pro tanking skills with 6/7 slots left for decency? Yesplz

About defy:
It's a tanking skill, sure, but there are SUCH better options.

Rending Aura in the optional slot makes Smite Crawling even more easy.

Sup runes are perfectly fine on that bar. More damage and since you defy hits another breakpoint and more health.

making builds based on the assumption that the other team will be bad is pro.

In RA it sucks because even if u tab, and kill the entire team bar the war, u still have to kill it eventually.

Its pretty good for tanking, but thats it.

I never said that. But exploiting the opposition being inexperienced can be fun. Especially if you don't have to spec sucky Tactics for it.

@deluxe: the damage increase from Strength 13/14 to 16 is laughable. The -75 Health isn't even offset by Defy Pain. Sup runes = fail (even for this one).

Defy pain was probably nice when the game first started, before people realized paladins are retarded(bad) compared to the sheer damage a warrior puts out in GW. This isn't WoW. Here warriors kill stuff fast. They bring the pain, not take it. You tank in PvP and good people will slap you. Remember, you don't need to tank them if you already killed them.

As far as PvE, who cares? If it works for you, if you have success with it, go nuts. With a nice Sabway, you can run nekkid through most parts. Oh, and the Sup rune thing? It's not an issue in normal PvE. In PvP you only want to run minors, and put it into your weapon. Whatever you do, don't sup strength. There isn't any bonus to it that's worth handicapping your damage, which is the only reason you should use a Sup other than vigor on a warrior. +300 hp vs +250? If you need that extra 50 hp on top of the 800+hp adding defy pain will give you, go play a different profession.

Just looking at the numbers, unless you are playing specific caster professions that get good bonuses from an additional +1 or +2 in an attribute, Major/Superior Runes are completely imbalanced; you don't gain enough bonus to your skills to justify the loss in health.

Take a look at the damage calculations... for every point in your damage attribute (Weapon Masteries for Warrior) above 12, you actually have to factor in a reduction of the increase in damage output gained.

Superior Runes on Warriors FTL.

AB = Lameness... ur point?

But seriously this skill is pointless in pvp, and irrelevant in pve where a monkey can usually win.
